OOC Rules
Be kind. All members are expected to be courteous to one another and show respect to each other. Bullying and harassment are not tolerated here. If you feel someone is bullying or harassing you, don’t hesitate to reach out to staff.
One account per player. All of your characters will be played and managed on the same account.
No distasteful usernames. Offensive language, slurs, or other harmful words should be in your username. Words or phrases such as “gypsy” or “redskin” are just some examples of prohibited names.
Minimize chatspeak. Not all of our members might have English as their first language, so while they may understand “lol” and “omg” they probably won’t understand “can’t w8 2 ttyl gurl!” So please, keep it to a minimum.
Theft is prohibited. Using art, literature, etc., that does not belong to you and was not made for you is not allowed at all.
We are LGBT+ friendly. We expect to not see anything negative against LGBT+ out of character, ever.
We are PG-13. Keep things on the site within this rating, please. And as per Proboards rules, you must be 13 or older to join. According to RPG Rating, we are a 2-1-1 rated board. This means awearing is permitted, with some limitations; mild sexual innuendo and references permitted; and mild violence is permitted.
Keep pornographic, sexual, or highly suggestive material off the site. There may be younger users viewing the site and they do not need to be subjected to... that.
Do not give away personal information. If you give anything, give only your real first name. Do not give your last name, your address, or anything that could lead a potential predator to you in real life.
Discord names should be the same as your forum name. You can join our Discord here.
IC Rules
No character limit. You can have as many characters as you want, but if you haven’t used them in a while you may wish to consider putting them up for adoption.
No word limit. We don’t expect you to write 500 words per post, but we do expect you to write more than one sentence. We understand sometimes the creativity just isn’t flowing, but outside of possibly a combat scenario there should be no one-line posts.
Characters must be approved first. This is to keep any game-breaking bits from getting into the RP. While there probably won’t be many of those, this just keeps things running smoothly. If your character hasn’t been approved within 48 hours you can begin playing, but please also ask a staff member to take a look at your character as soon as they can.
Duplicate names are fine. This may change if we get five different Jacks.
Appearances must be semi-realistic. Coat and eye colors have to line up with colors that you’d realistically find on a dog/wolf. Designs are encouraged to be more realistic but do not have to be. If you want unnatural eye colors, you are welcome to purchase that perk in the shop.
No powers. These canines are just regular old dogs and wolves, they don’t have any special powers to lift boulders with their minds or anything. Canines within Limberlost territory, however, may be able to see ghosts.
Please add trigger warnings. There is a list of topics that need to be marked with a TW, but some examples here are miscarriage, vomit, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, and abuse.
You may not be your own mentor. We want to encourage roleplaying with other members, so if your character is a whelp then they must be mentored by someone that is not you.
Godmoding, metagaming, and power playing are all forbidden. No character is a god, no character can know what they were not there to see (or were not told by someone else who was there), and no characters should be controlled by anyone but their player without permission.
Characters must be pregnant one IC month before giving birth. Just so that the little pups don't magically get born from a puff of smoke or something.
Characters cannot be killed without permission. They will die eventually (ten years of age is the limit) but unless their time is up, it is up to the player how that happens.
Allow others time to respond before replying again. If there are three people (or more) in a thread, allow each person a chance to respond before moving forward. If a person hasn’t responded in 48 hours they will be considered “thinking about what to do” and the other people in the thread can continue.
Liquid time is allowed. Your characters can be in multiple threads at once, but unless specified whichever post was made first happened first.
Vulgar language is allowed, but don’t overdo it. There is no need to curse every other word.
Combat Rules
If a winner is not predetermined, dice must be used. There is a dice roller here on the site. Codes for it will be listed below. The only exception is if there will not be any bickering about who won or about someone making too many dodges.
Rolls may only be done once. You can't delete your roll and then roll again until you get a higher roll.
Here's how it works. We want to try to keep combat simple, so the way it works is as follows:
Character A writes out what they hope to do, then rolls a die. The die number is how much damage they'll do.
Leaders, deputies, healers, warriors, and dames use a d20, healer apprentices, apprentices, and elders use a d10, and pups use a d4.
Character B can either take the hit or roll a die as well. Even numbers (2,4,6) mean they dodge, odd numbers (1,3,5) mean they don't.
Please keep track of how much health your character has.
Leader: 100 HP
Deputy: 90 HP
Healer: 80 HP
Healer Apprentice: 50 HP
Warrior: 70 HP
Apprentice: 50 HP
Dame: 60 HP
Pup: 20 HP
Elder: 60 HP
