Differences
- Leaders only have one life.
- Leaders can, but do not have to, go to the Sacred Ruins at the center of the land when they are made leader.
- The Sacred Ruins are basically our Moonstone/Moonpool and Fourtrees/Island.
- “Medicine Dogs” are called Healers.
- There can be up to 2 healers and 2 healer apprentices.
- Healers can have mates.
- Apprentices are called Whelps.
- They do not call it StarPack, they simply call them the Ancestors. The Ancestors also encompass “evil” spirits.
- We don’t use traditional WC naming. There is no “Firepup” or “Firepaw,” just “Fire.” Or Frank. Or Francis. Any name, really, so long as it isn’t something offensive like g*psy.
- The canine’s toes can be used to “pick up” things, just for the sake of it being easier to make fortifications in bush barriers and such that way.
Similarities
- All the packs meet once a month on the full moon at the Sacred Ruins.
- Newly made warriors sit vigil, guarding the camp for that night.
- Healers go to the Sacred Temple every half-moon.
- A new deputy must be named by midnight when an old one dies/retires/is exiled.
- The deputy becomes leader when the leader dies/retires/is exiled.
- Ages 0-6 are pups, 6-12 (or longer if something happens) apprentices, 12-84 warriors, and beyond that are elders. At 120 moons (10 years) they do have to die, however.
- There are still little ceremonies to say a pup becomes an apprentice and who their mentor is, their name just doesn't change unless they have requested it.
- A pool of water that is somehow always clear sits in the middle of the Sacred Ruins, which the canines drink from to contact their Ancestors.
- The Ancestors appear as stars in the night sky and are sometimes able to communicate through a canine's dreams.
