Physical Appearance
Gabriel is a black and rust colored Doberman Pinscher, meaning his pelt color is a deep dark black and the markings on his face, chest, and legs are a red “rust” color. As a pup, he had floppy ears and a long tail like all Doberman naturally do, but before he grew too large his owner decided they wanted the classic cropped ear and docked tail look. He was not a hunting dog, nor a fighting dog—though he certainly got in enough scuffles each time he escaped the house. At this point he has a myriad of scars across his body and several nicks in his ears. Beneath those scars are powerful muscles that were built for a dog that contains an optimal combination of strength, endurance, and agility. He may not be at the peak of health anymore, living in the wilds as he is, but he’s no pushover.
Height: 28 inches (71.12 cm)
Weight: 99 lbs (44.91 kg)
Eyes: Deep brown
Coloration: Black with brown markings
Scars: Numerous
Other: Has a chain collar from being a former pet.
Personality
A “good dog” is not what you’ll get with Gabriel. Sure, he’s athletic, easily able to leap long distances, run for miles without getting tired, and even scale a six-foot privacy fence, but that doesn’t mean he’s a good dog. Though he is highly captivating, usually able to draw in an audience with the way he talks and turn his little misadventures into daring tales of saving others—but he doesn’t save or protect anyone for free. He expects to be paid back for it eventually. Whether it be just a bone thrown his way or whether he’ll want more, he likely won’t tell you until he wants it.
Ambition might as well be his middle name. He likes to act cool, calm, and collected to seem like he’s got it all together since he wants to be known as the best of the best within the Pack. Maybe even deputy one day. Once he sets his mind on something, he’s determined to get it. It can be small, like filling the fresh-kill pile… or it could be big, like murder. But as far as anyone knows he hasn’t done that yet. He is mighty proud of all the things he does, though.
Though he hides it, sometimes his arrogance slips out and it becomes glaringly obvious that he’s kind of a piece of shit. He thinks about things, calculating how they might go before doing them, and if it doesn’t have a good enough reward for the risk he simply won’t do it, even if it means saving the life of a Packmate. Because no matter how nice he seems on the outside, on the inside it’s all about him, baby. He’s full of ego and the world revolves around him. How he’s even still part of Sawtooth is a wonder.
Positive: Athletic, captivating, daring.
Neutral: Ambitious, determined, proud.
Negative: Arrogant, calculating, egocentric.

History
As a pup, Gabriel was a pet. His owner liked the look of “classic” Dobermans over “natural” ones though, so his ears were cropped and his tail docked. He still looked cute as hell and had all sorts of humans falling head over heels in love with him, and that’s what started his egocentric tendencies: he kept getting attention. He was the center of attention whenever they went to the park or the pet store and he liked it. He wanted it to stay that way. Unfortunately, that began to stop happening once he began to get older and lost the cute puppy look.
So he did the next best thing. He started picking fights with other dogs. At first he just growled at them as they passed in the park, and it did get him noticed. The high, harsh pitch of his owner wasn’t pleasant to listen to, but it was attention. So he kept doing it. One day the other dog lunged at him and, without thinking, he fought back. The two owners got into a heated debate that day over whose dog was at fault. In the end both had to go to the vet and get their wounds checked.
Then the thrill of fighting got to his head. He started escaping from the back yard—he had figured out how to scale the six-foot privacy fence—and getting into scuffles with any and every dog he could find. This led to a rough and tumble dog pack in the city to take notice and chase him out. By the time they stopped chasing him, he had crossed the border into Eternity Wildlife Refuge, where he ran into a Sawtooth Forest Pack patrol. He hid why he had been out there and they welcomed him in, thinking him a poor lost stray. Soon he found out that there were border skirmishes with Heaven’s Peak Pack fairly often, and this satisfied his need to beat up other canines.
But Gabriel has a secret. He became interested in a dog from Heaven’s Peak at one of the Gatherings, and they had a bit of a fling. Two months later he was greeted again and told that once the pup was big enough to travel, he’d get one. He loved this idea. There had only been two pups, but one could be in each of their packs. Even though he wouldn’t get to train his pup, he’d at least get to watch them grow up and influence them.
Once it was time, he brought the pup to the Pack and said that he had a fling with a loner. He admitted he was wrong and was forgiven. When asked about the mother, he said she had died and he had buried her. No one seemed suspicious about it. And with that he began to plant the idea in his pup’s head that he was the best canine in the entire refuge…
